Friday Free For All

Rounding up some metal for the weekend:
Lich King, from Amherst, Mass., has amused me. I am amused…enjoy “Black Metal Sucks.” Or for something more up to date, try “Crossover Songs Are Too Damned Short.” It’s funny. It’s also awesomely old school. For further Lich King-related hilarity, if you’ve got a Kindle, go to Amazon and order vocalist, Tom Martin’s Dumb Things My Head Makes Up for a measly $3. Seriously, with an entry titled A Ziploc Bag Full of Salad Kittens, how can you go wrong?(You can’t, that’s how.)
Hypnosia is from Växjö, Sweden. Or, was—they split up, which is a bummer, because they were good. They’ve been described as “70% furious thrash-metal blended with 30% brutal death-metal.” Check out “Extreme Hatred.”
From Velbert, Germany, comes Mekong Delta. Interesting “progressive-thrash.” Here’s “Confession of Madness.”
And I’m gonna get all local here for a minute and give a shout out to my main man, Wayne’s, band Molasses Barge—this is some sweet Pittsburgh Doom, folks. Have a listen to “Emerging Void,” live at the 31st Street Pub.
Have a swell weekend, everyone. \m/ \m/

The purple banister is especially HM.
Yeah, purple is a funny color. It could be either really girly, or gothy. Or both. This banister was girly-gothy until these guys showed up. Then, it was METAL. \m/
Hypnosia is pretty brutal, huh?
I like ’em!
