Today’s post is a little late—it’s been a busy morning.
There’s a big blizzard coming, right? Well, where we are, we’re expecting 1-3 inches (or so The Man says), but we’ve got peeps in more northern climes that are expecting a whole bunch more. So, this week’s Friday Free For All is dedicated to those of you who will be braving the storm.
Then, from Canada (Edmonton), there’s Messiahlator, with “Blizzard of Saws” (you think snow is bad). That’s a live version, because I love live versions, but here’s another, cleaner version. This came out in 2010, and they’ve done two demos last year, so if you dig it, they’re still around. Find them; check them out.
And, for something completely different, and yet, staying with the theme of blizzards of things that are so much worse than snow, this is Sweden’s The Deadists, with “Blizzard of Nails.” The video is just clips from Häxan, which is awesome in and of itself.
French Black Metal artists apparently have a monopoly on songs with the word “blizzard” in them. Here’s Artefact with ten minutes of something melodic, with the confusing title of “Blizzard Dwarf Army.” Okay!
But wait! you say. Isn’t there something missing here? Yes. Yes, there is. And here you go. Ozzy’s “Blizzard of Oz,” that some kind, kind person has put up on YouTube in its entirety from vinyl. Horns to that guy: \m/ \m/
